The 47-year-old, a first-time MLA and son of BJP veteran Yediyurappa, took on the role aiming high by setting a target to win all 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the upcoming elections.
Addressing a gathering at the event, Vijayendra expressed his commitment to meeting the party’s expectations. “I want to assure the party leadership and every ‘Karyakarta’ that I will work sincerely for the party,” he said.
He stressed on the ambitious goal of securing all 28 Lok Sabha seats achievable, drawing inspiration from his father’s successful target of winning 25 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Highlighting the urgency of the matter, Vijayendra stressed the importance of winning all 28 Lok Sabha seats to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in building a robust nation.
He criticized the Congress government in state, claiming that no significant investments had been attracted to the state since Siddaramaiah came to power, leading to a deteriorating economy and a lack of development works.
Drawing attention to the challenges faced by the state, Vijayendra pointed out the severe impact of the ongoing extreme drought on farmers. Expressing gratitude to the BJP central leadership for his appointment, he pledged to work hard to meet their expectations and serve every party worker.
Vijayendra, who previously served as the party’s state unit’s general secretary and vice-president, assumed the presidency, replacing Nalin Kumar Kateel.
